Individual Note

Sir Charles Trollope was born in 1808 and entered the army in 1825. He became a Colonel in 1854 and General in 1877. He retired in 1878 and was Hon. Col. of the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. He commanded troops in Cephalonia 1848-50, served as Brig. Gen. in the Crimea 1854-55 and was much decorated. He commanded troops in Canada 1858-61. He died in 1888.
